'Keeping animals in captivity is cruel. There is no reason for zoos to exist in the 21st century'
How far do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Today, almost every country in the world has zoo.In the zoo, animals are placed in captivity to entertain people which raised heated debate between politicians, governments, scientists, and even kids in junior high school whether zoos should be exist or not
Some findings about cruelty on animals by zoo supports the argument that zoos need to disappear. For example, first, dolphins were packaged in a track with limited amount of water.Second, lions in small zoo are unhealthy and very thin. They were feed only half of their daily needs per day. Moreover, cages in the zoos are too small which make the animal stress. As the corollary of psychological sickness, animals are easier to get physically sick.
Otherwise, from another side of view, actually some zoos treat their animals well. The animals get enough nutrition daily, because the zoos have their own animal nutritionists. In addition, the animals do not placed in the small cages, instead they are put together in big cages to make them feel in their own habitat.
By the way, from my own opinion, the problems are in the government, because they do not make strict enough regulations and supervisions to prevent animal to suffer caused by poor treatment from zoos.
To sum up, the zoos still need exist to entertain people, but with good regulations and supervisions by government.
