Some people say that many subjects in university education are now redundants and should be omitted. Do you agree?
Nowadays, more and more university students give up their studies. Its role reflect that many subjects in university education are now redundant. It makes more pressure for student to passing the courses. The two basic reasons that leads to many subjects should be omitted are no application and fail to match students ability.
Firstly, many subjects are seemed no application. It has outdated context in the modern civilization. The tertiary students often get troubles when studying the courses which does not relate to their major. For example, students in English have to learn the second language - French, which is outdated and not popular today. Others subjects still abstracts, learners does not have ability to acquire knowledge and use it in concrete situations. Tertiary students feel boring after the abstract lesson without understand, they can meet with difficulties in practicing.
Secondly, a lot of courses are failed to match students ability. Many universities propose the highly - specialized knowledge master for students. The person who attend university do not have enough ability to cover all of subjects in university education. For instance, students in English can meet problems with new subjects such as Syntax, Semantics, Morphology, etc, which have not been taught at high school. Another subjects still get no connection to students major. The tertiary universities who majors in foreign language must learn Physical Education. There is no relationship between Foreign language and Physical Education. Some courses also requires intense critical thinking. The students ability can not overcome this requirements and it also make students under a lot of pressures when pursing higher education.
In conclusion, many redundant subjects still exist in university education. The headmaster of each university should consider and omit redundant subjects carefully to reduce the students pressure.
