The figure compares the yearly salary of physicians and other workers in several countries in 2004. At first glance, it is evident that the annual salary of doctors was higher than that of other workers. Moreover, the wage of US doctors was much higher than that of in other countries.
Turning first to the doctors' earnings. Whereas in the US medical practitioners made $120.000, in Finland they earned the least, approximately $50.000 a year. Meanwhile, the doctors in France and Switzerland were paid around $70.000, followed by them in Czech Republic and Germany (just over $60.000) as well Italy with exactly $60.000.
In contrast, the other workers got much lower, at about $42.000 and $40.000 in the US and Switzerland respectively. In France, they earned approximately $30.000, while in Finland well above $20.000. The lowest wages for other workers were in Italy, Czech Republic and Germany ($20.000)
