The given line graph illustrates the volume of travelers to and from UK in the period of 1979 to 1999, while the bar chart depicts the numbers of tourists from the UK to five countries in 1999. Overall it is apparent that over the 20 years there was a drammatic increase in the UK residents traveling abroad, while the figure of the visitors to the UK experienced a slight rise. In 1999, according to the bar chart, main countries where the UK residents travelled to, were France and Spain, while the USA, Greece and Turkey had less tourists from this country.
The line graph shows that the numbers of travellers from and to the UK was nearly similar, at 10 million in 1979. Later, British tourists’ number developed gradually to just over 50 million, whereas the visitors to the UK became about 25mln.
As for the UK residents traveling abroad, the vast majority visited France (over 10 mln) and Spain (nearly 9 mln). Fewer number of British tourists were hosted by the USA (4 mln), Greece (3 mln) and Turkey (2 mln).
