Many parents nowadays choose to use money for their own lives after they retire rather than save it for their children. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
It is true that a number of people opt to spend money on enjoying their lives instead of saving it for their offspring. While this trend is positive in a number of ways, I believe that it also negatively affects young people.
On the one hand, the decision of retired parents to spend money on their own lives has several positive effects. Firstly, when retirees are able to support themselves and finance their personal expenditures, they are not financially dependent on anyone. This means that young people do not have to worry about paying for their parents’ bills, which significantly eases the financial burden on them. Secondly, the fact that the young do not receive money from their parents teaches them a valuable lesson. The lesson is that they cannot expect handouts, and therefore have to work hard to earn a living and meet their needs.
However, this tendency is also negative in a variety of ways. One adverse effect is that not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to secure a job and some even have to face unemployment. Without inheriting money from their parents, these people would likely end up living under the poverty line. In addition to this, many young people really need financial assistance from their parents to start their own business, and without such help, the idea of private enterprises would be discouraged. For example, my friend wants to run a coffee shop, but this is impossible because his parents do not help him with the money needed.
In conclusion, I personally believe that the idea of parents not saving money for their children is both positive and negative.
