The graph below gives information about household car ownership in Britain from 1990 to 2030
The line graph depicts changes in the percentages of the cars per household in Britain over a period for 40 years, starting in 1990, with a projection to 2030.
It is clear that the proportion of household which owns no-car fell the most of the given time and set to continue falling, while the opposite was true for families to have two or more cars. Also, the percentage of household with one-car peaked in 2005, and declined after, although a slight recovery is anticipated after 2025.
In 1990, the percentages of British household did not have any car at 52% in comparison with 35% of the household had one-car, and around 12% owned two or more cars. over the next 15 years, the figures for families had one-car rose sharply and reached a peak at 55%, while british households having no-car witnessed a gradual drop from 52% to 32% in the same year 2005. Meanwhile, a small fluctuation could be seen on the graph, which is the figures for households possessed two cars at around 10%, during the same period.
From 2005 onwards, the figures for one-car ownership fell and is expected to continue falling around 38% in 2025, but then it is forecasted to slightly recover to about 42% in by the year 2030. By contrast, the proportion of families had two or more car is anticipated to increase considerably over 40% in 2030. Besides, the proportion of families did not have any cars said to fall dramatically to roughly 15% in the whole of the period shown.
