To what extent has the internet made modern life more convenient?
Nowadays, the internet is one of the most essential tools that we use in society as it facilitated people like never before. To a certain extent, I agree that the internet has various reasons that made our life more advantageous. However, I also believe that it has a negative impact on us as individuals.
It is undeniable that the method of socialization, education, and shopping variety of products has become more convenient today than in previous days. Firstly, the internet has created a way that breaks communication barriers by connecting people all over the world through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Secondly, it has not just opened the gate to global education but also serves as a source of information that helps each individual to gain learning in any aspect. Lastly, the development of the internet in society has also brought about advances in the economic sector. For example, we can save time and energy in choosing from a variety of products via online shopping.
On the other hand, although the internet indeed has many benefits in society, there are drawbacks to some extent. One of the disadvantages of this is the time allocation in browsing social media sites instead of doing the necessary tasks. For instance, some individuals tend to spend more time to face on their device rather than having a real conversation when they gather. Another downside of the internet is the computer-oriented crimes such as fraud and hacking that affects the security and privacy of an individual. However, though it may not be possible to completely eradicate these kind of crimes, people can reduce the exposure to it by maintaining an effective strategy in securing systems, networks, and data.
In conclusion, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages of the internet as it made our life more convenient in terms of social, learning, and economic aspects. With this, there is no doubt to believe that the internet is beneficial in our modern life.
