The table below gives information about changes in modes of travel in
England between 1985 and 2000.Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features

The table shows various modes of travel used by people of England between the years 1985 and 2000.
Overall, the average distance travelled by each person using different means increased from 1985 to 2000. During all this years carwas the most used medium for travellling.
Talking about car, the average miles travelled by each person had an increase of about 1600 miles from 1985 to 2000. Apart from this, travelling by train and long distance bus also had a significant growth. The distance travelled by taxi on average incremented more than thrice from 13 to 42 miles. Moreover, other modes of travelling also became popular in England showing an average increase of about 135 miles compared to 1985.
On the other hand, using bicycles or walking to the destination decreased during these 15 years. However, a greater decrease can be seen in people travelling by local bus as the average miles per person reduced from 429 in 1985 to 274 in 2000.
