The table describes the distribution difference in the notebook computer market for manufacturers between 2006 and 2007.
From 2006 to 2007, while the market share of HP, Dell, and Toshiba witnessed an increase, the reverse was true for Acer, Lenovo and Fujitsu-Siemens. Among all brands, HP and Dell were the most popular choice for notebook computer users.
In both two years, HP remained the one had the highest market share at 31.4% and 34% in 2006 and 2007 respectively. In 2006, the percentage of Dell is recorded at 16.6% followed by a slight increase of 3.6%. While the market share of Acer dropped from 11.6% to 10.7%, that of Toshiba rose from 6.2% to 7.3% from 2006 to 2007. Regarding the change of Lenovo, there was no huge difference in two years with the share fluctuated within 0.4%. However, this made Lenovo lost to Toshiba in the race of selling notebook computer and gave the number four in rank to them. Before experiencing a two-fold decrease in 2007, the portion of Market Share taken by Fujitsu-Siemens reached 4.8% one year before.
