The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030.

summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

This chart describes different types of not only fossil fuel but also nuclear and renewable energy forms in quadrillion units that were consumed and its future estimation in the United States.

Generally, the United States depends on fossil fuel combustion to generate its energy. The always rising employment in Petrol and Oil cannot be unnoticed. As it is prospected to increase up to approximately 50 quadrillion units by 2030 with only a minor fluctuation between 1980 and 1995, that might be due to the parallel increment of Coal utilization in the same period, which also is projected to reach 30 quadrillion units by 2030.

The employment of Natural Gas has increased slightly from 20 to almost 25 quadrillion units. It had minor swings till 2010 followed by a stagnation in the next 20 years.

Nuclear energy has increased steadily between 1980 and 1990, then it recessed in the next 10 years. By 2030 it is expected that the nuclear energy will remain almost the same, only would have inconsiderable increase to 7 quadrillion units.

Renewable energy including Solar/Wind and Hydropower had little changes during this period. Solar/Wind energy may eventuality exceed 5 quadrillion units, while Hydropower may become as it was in 1980.
