The chart illustrates the proportion of visitors to England who went to 4 different destinations in Brighton between 1980 and 2010. Overall, the rate of tourists to Pier and Pavilion witnessed an upward trend, as opposed to the data for the other 2 tourist attractions. Additionally, Pavilion became the most popular attraction from 1990 onwards, with the figure peaking at 1995.
In 1980, the percentage of visitors to England went to Pier, standing at 10%. Despite some fluctuations, this figure climbed from 12% in 2000 to 22% in 2010. Meanwhile, the proportion visiting the Pavilion made up nearly 25% in 1980, before a sharp ascent to reach a record – high of 50% was seen in this data in 1995.
