summarize the point in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points in the passage.
The passage is stating that the Torrrya taxifoha is subjected to extinction. So, experts are trying to propose some solutions to control the danger of extinction. They have considered three ways to do so.However, the professor attitude toward these solutions is negative. She believes that they have not provided satisfactory solutions. So, she rejects each of the solutions.
First of all, the author states that reestablishment of Torrey taxifoha in the same location, but in the coolest and dampest part of the native area. The professor claims that this solution is unlikely to work. She believes that the coolest parts of the area are affected by the other and also, larger parts of the area.Because of the increase in global temperature, these cool areas are getting dryer. As result of this changes the seeds cannot survives the coolest areas.
The second solution is relocate the tree a totally different location. The lecture also reject this idea by providing an example of the black tree that experience the exact similar experiment. As the result of the experiment, although the tree grow better bur it caused other plants to stop growing. So, as you can see there was an unpredictable outcome that shows that this solution doesn't really work.
Finally, the scientists have suggested to preserve the tree in the research centers. In these places they can help the tree to grow in a preserved and monitored situation and provide better consequences.
However, the professor claim that the ability of these trees to survive disease are relatively affected by their population. The larger population, the more possibility of survival. As there is not enough capacity to grow supported by the research labs, consequently the trees wouldn't survive in long term.
