Essay topics:

People tend to shop online more often than do it in stores. Do you think it is a positive or a negative development/ trend?

It is sometimes argued that e-shopping is attracting more customers than buying things in stores. While this could be obvious that shopping online may bring some detrimental effects to the economy, I believe that this alteration is a potential development for future life.
From a perspective of buyers, there are several benefits associated with online shopping. Specifically, they no longer queue for a long period of time at the cashier to purchase things, as well as spend time driving to the malls and stores. This is particularly the case for the recent COVID-19 pandemic, which are now blocking residents to go outside. Therefore, staying at home and shopping online is an optimum solution to stay healthy and lessen the pressure of frontline doctors and nurses.
Initially, it is clear to argue that e-shopping will decrease the profit of store owners. However, it turns out to be an opportunity for far-reaching stores to reach more customers and increase sales, not to mention the fact that online sellers, with the help of social media, are far more convenient when launching advertisements. A recent survey conducted by McGill University depicts that 70% of buyers from two big clothing branches come across their products while using Facebook.
Nevertheless, there are also drawbacks when shopping using the Internet, as it may be a chance for sellers purchasing unqualified items and harm the national pricing stability. These could be solved when platform software companies adopt firm policies and raise awareness of their users.
Succinctly, despite the fact that online shopping can be misused for fraud and degradation of well-qualified products, the trend of people buying more things online can be applied for future trading market due to its convenience and flexibility.
