In general, mobile phones are more popular in most European countries, except Denmark, whereas more people prefer land lines in North America.
As for mobile phones, they are mostly used in Italy, with 90 phones, a number which is more than double that of landlines. In the second place is Sweden, with about 88 phones. Other countries, such as the UK and Denmark, also have high number of cell phones used, at above 80. In contrast, people in Canada and the United States are not fond of mobile phones that much, with roughly 38 and 48 respectively.
As for land lines, they are the most favored in Denmark, with approximately 88 devices, compared to only 41 phones per 100 Italians. For the remaining countries, the figures for fixed lines use are very similar, with an average of 63 telephones.
