Overall, there were considerable changes in all categories during the 5 years. While the figures for food and beverage and video games increased, the figures for the other two sectors fell.
Getting back to the details, online sales for food and beverage witnessed a significant increase from 22% in 2005 to 32% in 2010. This was the largest proportion of online shopping sales in 2010. Also, there was a modest rise in the figures for video games by 5% over the same period.
On the other hand, sales for electronics and appliance, which was the highest category in 2005 accounted for 35%, fell moderately by 5% in 2010. Finally, the most dramatic decrease was home furnishings. It represented 25% of the total sales in 2005 and went down to just 15% in 2010.
