: Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they case doubt on specific points made in the reading passage
Both the reading and the lecture are about whether Sinosauropteryx had feathers or not. In this vein, the reading passage, by providing three major reasons, argues that Sinosauropteryx had not feathers. However, the professor refutes each of the author's reasons and states there are some strong evidence and confirming that Sinosauropteryx was a feathered dinosaur. she says that the article's reasons are not convincing.
First of all, the text claims that the fine line around the Sinosauropteryx was not functional structures of a living a dinosaur. Actually they formed after the animal died due buried in volcanic ash which its skin may have decomposed and changed to fibers so the lines misread as evidence of feathers. In contrast, the professors reject this idea by saying that scientists did not See any decomposition other animals on that site. scientists found that the animal's structure shows beautiful preserved in ash.
Secondly, the article discusses, Although the structure of remain fine line was real, but scientist they did not know what part of the dinosaur's anatomy the structures were. Therefore the lines surrounding are much more likely to be fossilized remains of frills. On the other hand, the lecture refutes this point by illustrating a different idea. She explains that frills and feathers are different chemically. In other words, frills, and feathers contain different chemical materials. As matter of fact, those lines were a feather.
As a final point, the writer state that if the functions of Sinosauropteryx were feather so it helps animals to fly or regulate their internal temperature. However, the speaker denies this point by saying that some animals had a similar structure to Sinosauropteryx feather structure. In other words, colorful feature structures used for displaying other animals so Sinosauropteryx had features which was used for display.
