Academic Writing Task 1
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
The charts below show each grade level’s activity and the total revenue gained from it, by percentage, from King Primary School’s recent fundraising event.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The table for the fundraiser event shows the activities held in it, which are associated by a grade from 1 to 6. The graph with it signifies the percentage revenue earned by an individual activity and is colour graded as per the grades shown alongside it.
From the graph, it can clearly be inferred that the dance contest accounts for the highest revenue generated by any individual event in the fundraiser. Also, book sales collected the least amount of money in the entire event.
As shown in the graph, three contests held in the fundraiser i.e. dance contest, cake decorating contest and soccer skill contest accounts for more than sixty percent of the entire revenue generated in the fundraiser.
While that is a significant percentage, different types of sales such as book sale, art sale and cookie sale barely accounts for the remaining forty percent of the sales, with book sales not even making ten percent of the total amount collected in the entire event.
