The charts below show the percentage of people working in different sectors in town A and town B in 1960, 2010.
The provided pie charts compare the percentages of workers of three different job departments in two unspecific towns A and B in 1960 and 2010.
Overall, Manufacturing was seen as the dominant major sector in both towns in 1960. However, over half a century, while it was still remained as the most popular employment in town B, service-related jobs overtook manufacturing in town A.
In 1960, 41% of the total workers in town A chose to work as manufacturers while there was a nearly equal percentage of employees working for the sales department (29%) and service-related jobs (30%). After 50 years, while people who choose to work for the service field experienced a substantial rise to 64%, becoming the most popular sector, the percentage of workers in manufacturing and sales approximately halved to 20% and 16% respectively.
Similar to town A, Manufacturing attracted the highest proportion of workers in town B in the year of 1960 which was accounted for 70% of employees. Only 20% of people were employed in the sales department which was twice as much as that of service-related jobs (10%). In 2010, the figure for service workers dramatically rose to 25% which was equivalent to a quarter of the total employees. While there was also a mild increase of 2% in the proportion of those working for sales department, there was a gradual drop of 17% in the fraction of manufacturers.
