The table demonstrates the consumer spending on Food/Drinks/Tobacco, Clothing/Footwear and Leisure/Education in Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Turkey in 2002. All units are in percentages.
Overall, all the countries had an inclination to spend on Food, Drinks, and Tobacco whereas least preference was given given to Leisure and Education category.
Furthermore, in Food, Drinks and Tobacco category, amongst all of the five countries, Turkish had the most consumer spending (32.14%) whereas the Swedish had least consumer spending (15.77%). In addition, clothing and footwear category, Italians spent the most on this category (9%) where as similar to Food, Drinks and Tobacco, Swedish had the lowest consumer spending (5.40%) on Clothing/Footwear.
It is clearly evident that Drinks and Tobacco, Turkish had a penchant for revelry thereby spending the most on foods, Drinks and Tobacco whereas Spanish eschewed spending on leisure and education thereby spending only 1.98% of national consumer expenditure.
