The line graph and column chart illustrate trends in the number of citizens and immigrants among them in the Great Britain.
Overall, as can be seen from the first graph, the citizenship in the UK underwent moderate growth during the period of forty years, interrupted with marginal fall between 1972 and 1982. The total quantity of immigrants was increased by 42 thousand people, with majority of Asian immigrants.
Turning to the first decade of surveyed period, we notice that the number of citizens went up from twenty thousand in 1962 to almost 37 thousand in 1972. Then suddenly, level of population fell down slightly and hovered around 30 thousand. During the remainder of the period, the population growth was rather significant, closing the 1992 year up to 50 thousand people. And in the end of researched period, it was above one hundred and ten thousand.
This noticeable rise in population was accompanied with the gradual growth in percentage correlation of immigrants. From 1996 to 2002 the number of immigrants from Europe and Africa increased most dramatically, by 18 and 16 thousand people respectively. The number of Asian immigrants counted almost a half of immigrants by the end of 2002 and equals to 58 thousand. The least number of residents have American, Australian and other origins: during 7 years their amount decreased by one thousand (from 5 to 4 th. people).
