People work hard to buy more things in life. This has made our life more comfortable but it is pity that many traditional values have been lost on the way to such materialism.

In modernized era, people are becoming too materialistic and working hard to make their life easeful. Due to this trend, they have been losing their hereditary values. I strongly agree with the notion that commodity fetishism is the main reason to abolish ancestral norms.
There are scores of reasons behind it, firstly, many people want instant gratification and they try to achieve everything with money. For example, in my country people hire servants to look after their children twenty four hours and they are busy doing their overtime jobs. So, this is the first blow to our traditions and relations because people invest their whole time just to earn money and manage all other things with the power of money. But there are many things like relationships , values demand person’s time and emotions to be strong.
Secondly, there is a big race to prove oneself better , more prosperous and richer than others . People judge others by the car they drive, by the clothes they wear or by the phone they own. In order to win this rat race ,sometimes people choose unethical ways and leave behind their values. No doubt, competition plays a vital role to achieve success but balance among all aspects of life should not be lost.
In conclusion, extreme quest for materials creates imbalances in our moral, social lives and thus ruin our conventional values and principles.
