You had borrowed money from your friend when you were facing some financial problems and forgot to pay it back. Write a letter to your friend and in your letter:
Apologize for being late in returning the money
Explain what happened
Say how you are going to fix the issue now
Dear Charlie,
I am writing this letter to apologize for not able to return the money you lent me and elucidate the challenge I had encountered in the past.
I am keenly sorry for not returning the borrowed amount on time because it is two months now since you sent me the money, and I remember that I promised you to pay back within a month
My father suffered from Covid-19 virus few month ago and was immediately hospitalized as his health was deteriorating because he was already a diabetes patient. Thus, we were required to pay an exorbitant amount of bills due to which, we faced financial crisis, and I had to ask you for some assistance.
Fortunately, his situation gradually ameliorated, and he recovered after about three months. Moreover, I assure you to clear the debt within a month as I have resumed my work; therefore, I would be able to save money and return you in the above mentioned time-frame.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Chirag
