In most professions and academic fields, imagination is more important than knowledge.
In the above statement the author put forward a debate comparing the importance between the imagination and the knowledge. Knowledge is nothing but the aggregation of the facts, informations and the experiences. Where as the imaginations can be defined as the ideas, concepts or trends. So to draw a conclusion regarding the importance between these two subject matter is not a straight forward thing, rather it demands in depth discussion.
We live in a world which is belong to the nature including ourselves. So we don't have any knowledge about the origin of the nature as well as about the ending of this nature. So we are in the midst of the nature and trying to extricate the mysteries sometimes to meet the our curiosities or sometimes to maintain our livelihood. And to do so we have observed the nature and made the questions. And the findings of these questions ultimately enriched our knowledge. Even today what we are called the education system is trying to disseminate the knowledge is nothing but the explanation of the facts that we observe in the nature. So knowledge comes first rather than imagination.
On the contrary the imagination is nothing but the dreams that people try to create from their interest and the curiosities and try hard to give them verisimilitude. In that case they use their experience and earlier concepts to bring those imagination into real world. So ultimately imagination is created from the knowledge and takes its forms through the implementation of the of those knowledge. Any imagination without the explanation is regarded as the fiction which might become true in near future but not real at present. That transformation also requires the gathering of knowledge.
If we consider the present technological development then we can say that those technologies simply mimic the natural incidences. It i the critical observations that made people to think in a innovative way to create their imagination and bring them into real subsequently. The observation of the falling apple by the great scientist Newton bring about the concept of the gravitional force and which has now been extended into spaceship and other imaginations that require further knowledge to prove to be real.
In conclusion I would like to mention that imagination is like dreams without any explanation. To prove the imagination we need experiences, knowledge and facts and to take logical approaches to move toward the imagination that can be regard as fiction at present. The greatest imagination of Avatar is now fiction that was generated through the critical judgement of the other knowledge and may become real in future with the logical approaches. Imaginations are like kites and the knowledge is like the tread that is guiding the kites. So without knowledge the imagination remain fiction. So I think knowledge is more important than the imagination.
