The table reveals the consumption of various products which people in five different countries spent money on in the year 2002, measured in the unit of percentage. Overall, the category of Food/Drink/Tobacco was by far the highest spending while that of Leisure/Education was the lowest over the time surveyed.
It can be seen that people in Turkey spent a much greater money than others in the two categories of Food/Drink/Tobacco and Leisure/Education, standing at 32.14% and 4.35% respectively. This was followed by the figure for Ireland, making up just 3.22% lower than that for Turkey in Food/Drink/Tobacco and 2.14% in Leisure/Education. Noticeably, the top spending on Clothing/Footwear belonged to Italy at 9%.
Regarding the remaining countries, the expenditure on Spain and Sweden experienced a negligible value. To be exact, the rate of these two countries was lower among the total consumption in the category of Food/Drink/Tobacco, at just 15.77% and 18.8% respectively. Additionally, consumers in Spain and Sweden who spent the average money on two remaining goods were lower than others, consisting of just under 7% for Clothing/Footwear and 4% for Leisure/Education respectively.
