In the recent years, many parents encourage their children to learn more than one language (apart from their mother tongue). Some educationalists claimed that children should learn foreign language in primary school. In my opinion, there are both disadvantages and advantages of the policy.
The obvious argument in its favor is that young children have a great comprehension of language more than other age groups. Many researches have proved that infants will have more opportunities of comprehending a second language, thus most of language teaching schools encourage children to register courses when they are young. That is the reason why some expert want to harness the potential of them.
On the other hand, some people have different views and attitudes about this policy. First of all, there are not enough facilities to provide young children a good environment which have been undertake many other subjects. For example, teachers in primary school will not have necessary knowledge and ability, and there are not many school can afford for employing specialists. As an result, enrolling language courses would be a better choice for children. Moreover, forcing children who do not have enthusiasm of language to learn compulsory languages at school will not achieve an expected result. However, if the school facilitate them to learn languages which they find interesting, the fee will be a huge number and there are not many people can accept.
In summary, learning foreign languages in primary school brings a great variety of benefit for children. Despite of that, the possibility of this policy is small, except the money matter is tackled. I believe that parents should take their children to language school.
