Barron's IELTS Practice Test 2010. Practice test6. In your opinion, should young people choose their professions, or should their parents choose for them?
There are a lot of professions in the world. And sometimes people do not choose an appropriate one. Thus, they try to avoid this situation in their children's lives. So, some people suppose that parents should choose professions for their children. Meanwhile, others think that young people know better themselves than parents. Thus, thee two points of view will be discussed in a given order.
From the one side, it is no doubt that parents know their children and they want only good things for their children. Although, parents are more experienced people than youngers. Moreover, parents observe the world and their children, that is why they know what is more important and what is better for youngers. And it should be noted that each parent wants his or her child to be a good person with good qualification.
From the other side, there are a lot of situations, when children choose profession on their own way and they achieve a lot. Sometimes parents do not know children's abilities and that is why parents can do mistake in choice of profession. It is no doubt that parents should always support their children in any cases. Young people should try to find their places in their lives. Rome was not built at once. Thus, it can be seen that sometimes it takes a lot of time for achieving goals. It is no doubt that young people should choose their future profession their own, because all their future life will connect with their professions. For instance, there are a lot of movies about teenagers'lives, where parents do not give their permission to sing songs or dance. So, these movies are a good example of this situation.
In conclusion, I think that young people should learn to built their lives on their own way, because it will be difficult on the work, which he or she will not like. It is very important to enjoy your job, because it is a part of your life.
