The diagram compares the amount of five means of transport which were registered in Australia in three years 2010, 2012 and 2014.
As can be seen from the table, all five types of vehicles rose during the period shown, with motorcycles having the fastest growth and heavy truck having the lowest growth after 4 years. Passenger vehicles accounted for the largest during all the period.
In 2010, 11.8 million passenger vehicles were used in Australia, followed by commercial vehicles with just 2.3 million. During the next 4 years, the figures for the two types of vehicles rose by 10,2% and 17.4% respectively, reaching 13 million and 2.7 million in 2014.
The number of motorcycles registered in Australia in 2010 was 540 hundred, which then increased by 30.8%, reaching 709 hundred in 2014. Heavy trucks and light trucks were the minorities that 384 hundred and 106 hundred were used respectively in 2010. 4 years later, the figure for light trucks rose faster than the figure for the heavy ones but light trucks still accounted for the smallest with 131 hundred vehicles being registered in 2014. At the same time, 416 hundred heavy trucks were used in Australia.
