The chart below shows the percentage of adults of different age groups in the UK who used the Internet everyday from 2003-2006.
The given bar graph depicts the proportion of adults of various age groups in the UK using the internet on a daily basis between the years 2003 and 2006. Internet usage is more prominent in the age group of 16-24 years.
From the graph, it can be clearly inferred that the use of the internet in the years 2003 and 2004 remained constant i.e., 80% for the age group of 16-24 years. A significant rise to 100% was observed in the same population. However, a slight drop to 90% was seen by the next year. A successive rise in internet usage was depicted in these consecutive years for the age group of 25-44 years. A similar incremental trend was noted in the usage of the internet for the category of 45-54 years.
Additionally, while comparing the young population, the older population used less internet every day in the following years, and similarly, with the further age increase (65+ years) internet usage declined steeply. Surprisingly, no population of 65+ age used the internet in the year 2003.
Overall, with the increase in age, internet usage declined.
