About the mysterious music instrument in ancient greek.
The reading explains how the instrument within the ancient time was mysterious. Their sounding and way of playing are still mysterious. However, the lecturer rebukes this opinion mentioned in the reading by saying that many archaeologist has made research and study and found ways to recreate the instrument and produce similar sound .
The reading mentioned that the Lyre which was a stringed instrument is a great puzzle as the sound is very much ornate. But, its replicas produce simple sound. However the lecturer disagrees and mentioned that the archaeologist has found information about the way to recreate the same music as made during the ancient era. Also, he mentioned that the lyre produces an interesting music by manipulating the sound and making it rich in sound and music which can be recreated by modifying the instrument sound.
Likewise, the author claims that the aulos consists of inexplicable origin, Usage of two instrument in the aulos is still considered very strange. But, the lecturer gives different opinion regarding the aulos. He states that aulos is originally made of single flute instrument. But, in order to add strength to the musical sound, another flute is added ,making it two flute instrument.
So, the lecturer explains from those two instrument reasoning that ancient greek instrument can be recreated by taking in account the archaeological research and findings. Hence, such ancient instrument recreation is no longer a mystery ,that contradicts the reading paragraph which considered such instrument as strange and sound produced from them, difficult to recreate.
