Increasing number of the aging needing assistance from the authority, especially in terms of finance can be recognized all over the globe. Some opine that it is the responsibility of the national society-care department, the others point out that people should take care of themselves. This essay will cover both views and elucidate why the latter one should be encouraged.
On the one hand, there are people requiring the government to be fully in charge of the financial, and essential-to-lives supplies to the elderly. It is seen as a gesture of gratefulness for their contribution in their prior youths. From a capitalist perspective, the prosperity of a nation relates to taxes collected from the labouring citizens, by which this essay is stating, the whole country owes these labors a priceless favor. Developed Western societies are prime examples as free-of-charge health care, combining with fixed after-retirement income for the people in their after ages model is widely applied.
On the other hand, some opinions calling for people to take the major role in their own lives as they live into old age. To clarify, these people might become burden for the state’s welfare distribution. Taking Vietnam as an illustration, expenses per annum for governmental nursing facilities, the ones established to provide medical service to the elderly alone, takes millions of Dollars since they face threats from chronic diseases such as Alzheimer, cancer,… Even though they could have had some savings during their working days, they appear to rather let the authority of this developing country shoulder the strain.
Having discussed two sides, i highly recognize the return of favor for people buzzing during their days of youth, however, if the two examples are put into comparison, unless when a state is prosperous enough, they should alter their concerns to other aspects.
To sum up, both perspectives are beneficial in different ways, it is up to the prosperity of the community to elect which one should be taken into account
