Face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication, such as email, or telephone calls. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement. Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.
With the advent of tremendous technology, countless forms of communication such as telephones, email were invented. Although I concede these types of communication are convenient, in-person talking still plays a more essential role in people’s lives. This essay will elaborate on my viewpoint.
On the one hand, cutting-edge communications may invade privacy or give inaccurate information. There are innumerable dangers of hackers invaliding the system and obtaining confidential information. Lead to more presence of viruses and malware that cause immense damage. For example, in 2019, Facebook Messenger was stolen more than 500 million personal information including passwords, real names. This alarming potential issue of Facebook is more significant than the possible benefits.
On the other hand, despite modern means of communication’s convenience, the face-to-face type ameliorates better in many aspects. Firstly, it helps people to make predictions about someone’s attitudes and feelings through his body language. Empirically proven that about 80% of direct communication is body language. For instance, nail-biting is a gesture that demonstrates anxiety, perplexity, or fearfulness. Secondly, an in-person form can allow people to get replies in detail and immediately. For busy people, who cannot always pay attention to emails or calls, will respond lately or at least in the abstract. Moreover, people having a call at an ungodly time may be upsetting for them, too.
In conclusion, face-to-face interaction requires better safety and flexibility in receiving- answering questions than virtual way. Thus, this type of communication should continue to be used to keep in touch with acquaintances.
