The bar chart gives information about the most popular movies by category for men and women, while the pie chart illustrates how much money was spent on different kinds of films in the USA in the year 2010.
In general, the most popular type of film for men was action, while women were likely to watch romantic comedies the most. Tickets of action movies were the highest sold, in contrast to other kinds of movies such as science fiction and western.
In the bar graph, it was obvious that men tended to choose action movies and this number was nearly twice as many as the women. Women had a tendency to watch romantic comedies, while just 5% of men watched this kind of movie. The number of men watching comedy and western movies was the same as the number of women. When thriller and science fiction movies were taken into consideration, more men watched these films than women.
In the pie chart, nearly a half of ticket sales were action movies. Ranked in second place were comedy movies with 24% of the ticket sales. Next came the romantic movies when just 12% of tickets were sold. One out of tenth percent of ticket sales were thriller movies. In the last place were other films such as science fiction and western with only 5% of the tickets sold.
