The graph shows average annual expenditures on cell phone and residential phone services between 2001 and 2010.
The line graph illustrates how much people spent on cell phone and residential phone services averagely a year over a 10-year period, from 2001 to 2010. Overall, it can be seen that cell phone services, which didn’t profit much in the initial years, earned more money each year gradually. On the other hand, the number of average expenses on residential phone services decreased steadily as time passed.
To begin with, cell phone services weren't popular in 2001, in which the average expenditure was only about 200 dollars. However, that number doubled in the next three years. It continued rising and could finally overtake the amount of money people spending on residential phone services in 2007. People used mobile phones more and more each day; as a result, about 750 dollars was spent on them in 2010.
On the contrary, people used to spend more money on residential phone services, with slightly less than 700 dollars was used. Unlike cell phone services, it lost people’s attraction and average expenditures began to drop. The number minimally declined to about 600 dollars in 2004, and 500 dollars in 2007. At the end of the period, people spent only 400 dollars on residential phone services, about half less than in the first year.
