As transparent from the charts, San Diego and California spend the most of the total amount of water on residential and the least on agriculture, meanwhile the opposite is true for the world as a whole.
According to the charts, San Diego and California utilize the largest amount of total water amount for residential purposes, with the figure of 60% and 39%, respectively. By contrast, the rest of the world exhibit the lowest water consumption for residential, which is just 8%. Furthermore, the second highest proportion of total water usage of San Diego and California is consumed for industry, which accounts for 23% and 33%, respectively. Simultaneously, the rest of the world spend the same amount of water on industry as San Diego.
Nevertheless, while the amount of worldwide water usage for agriculture is up to 69%, that of San Diego is less than approximately three-fold. Moreover, California experiences the second highest water consumption compared to others, at nearly one-third.
