Teachers should not make their social or political views known to students in the classroom.
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
From the dawn of human civilization, both education and teachers have been a significant part of human life. Not only can both of them affect every person, but also they can lead him or her toward being a prosperous person. It is a matter of debate among experts and other people whether it is better for teachers to make their social or political views known to students in the classroom or not. As far as I am concerned, I totally disagree with teachers talking to students about their social or political views for two important reasons.
First, some students are not mature enough; thus, they are not able to recognize whether something is true or false. Teachers are usually influential, and when they start to talk about their social or political views, some of them might be biased persons; it might affect students, most of whom figure out which views are logical. For intense, when I was in high school, we were close to the city representative election in my country. My teacher talked about his political view and then talked about his friend who was one of the candidates, and he encouraged us to vote for his friend regardless of whether his friend was a competent candidate or not. My teacher was very prejudiced about his friend. I did not know anything about this candidate; however, I voted for my teacher’s friend, and by doing so, I wanted to make him happy. Subsequently, I have realized that I made a mistake. It is obvious teachers how can influence their students.
Second, if teachers talk about their social or political views, it causes wasting time in the classroom. When teachers allocate time for their views in the classroom, by doing so triggers controversy in the classroom, which needs too much time; therefore, teachers should allocate time, of course, entirely for education. I would like to provide an example; In my English classroom, my teacher started to talk about some rebels which had started in different parts of my country. This caused a kind of discussion between the teacher and some students, other students, such as me, were not interested, and our time totally wasted. As a result, I believe that teacher should not make their social or political views known to students in the classroom, which has not any advantage for students.
To sum up, in my view, teachers should not make their social or political views known to students in the classroom. It might harmful effects on students who are not mature; also, it causes wasting time in the classroom. I hope teachers spend time in the classroom totally on education and encourage their students to be productive in class; instead, they allocate time to their views.
