Taking part in extracurricular activities such as sports and music is becoming as important as academic study. What are the advantages and disadvantages of extracurricular activities for students?
Due to the social development, education seems to be concerned about by government. School nowadays not only teach academic learning for students but also give them some extracurricular activities. Debating to this problem some individuals say that it is necessary measure for enhance pupil’s ability, but others argue that it may waste a lot of time and make students become worse at their study. The pros and cons of this tissue will be taken in consideration in this essay.
First of all, when students have chance to join in optional activities, they can reduce stress easily. Nowadays, learner is coped with many pressures. This can be made from the community, their family or study. Therefore, by participate in some sports, music class pupil can temporary forget all stress and immerse in their own world. Moreover, extracurricular activities can help them to improve their soft skill such as communication skill, listening skill, critical thinking and so on which is practiced by meeting new people, trying somethings new. This mean that students can gain some experience which is known to be strong support for them in the future. From that point, pupil will have environment to improve fully their ability and become more creative, active, resourceful, which may support effectively for their occupation in the future.
However, this problem still have some negative aspect. On account of teaching innovation, some people use advantage of it to skip study academic knowledge from school. This mean that pupil believe that when they participate in some optional activities they need not learn seriously and then omit many classes or do not finish their homework. Explanation for this tissue is that some individuals still have idle awareness and deny totally benefit form study academic syllabus.
In conclusion, I believe that the positive side from this problem outweigh the negative one. Therefore, to develop fully capability of students, school need to have some suitable resolution to balance elective and compulsory subjects. From this point, pupil may have solid foundation to find better job opportunity in the future.
