The given line charts illustrate how many changes of electrical appliances were owned by people and how much time was spent by them when doing housework and households in one country over a period of 99 years from 1920 to 2019. Units are measured in percentage of households and number of hours per week, respectively.
Overall, it can clearly be seen that the ownership of all three electrical appliances increase whereas the time allocation for doing housework decrease. Moreover, while washing machines are the highest tools that people have at start, it was overtaken by refrigerator and vacuum cleaner by the end of period.
In terms of electrical appliances, the highest ownership at the beginning, the ownership of washing machine stood at exactly 40. It moderately rose by 30 in 1960 before falling to just above 60 twenty years later. From this point onward, it experienced a slight growth around 10 in 2019. Moreover, the two lowest electrical tools ownership at the start, the people with refrigerator and vacuum cleaner in their house started at 30 and just below 10, respectively. Both of them saw significant increase to 100 in 2000, and remained at the same level in the final year.
Regarding housework time at the start, people spent their time for washing clothes, preparing meals, and cleaning at exactly 50 in 1920. It declined tremendously by 30 in 40 years. Finally, it witnessed a slight decrease to about 15 in 1960, and remained at the same level in 1980 before declining to just above 10 in 2019.
