The line graph illustrates the proportion of UK teenagers eating a vegetable diet over the period between 1960 and 2020.

In general, as can be seen clearly from the graph, the percentage of young vegetarians increased throughout the period given. In 1980, there was a high of proportion of people who have a vegetarian diiet.

In 1960, the percentage of adolescent vegetarians stood at nearly 0% and then rose significantly during the next three years to reach a peak at about 15% in 1980. After that, the proportion experienced a sudden drop by approximately 10% in the following year. From 1990 to 2000, the figure for young people with plant-based eating fluctuated slightly.

From 2000, there was an upward trend in young vegetarian's figure to more than 10%. From that point, the proportion of adolescents with vegetable eating remained relatively unchange at around 10% at the end of the period.
