The diagram shows the flooding area of two rivers and possible solutions.
The given diagrams illustrate areas affected by flood and two solutions are mentioned.
By and large, the first solution is more costly, while the second solution has damaged the environment.
To begin with, in the top of the diagram, the flood arrives near the river A and B. When the flood comes, areas including an industrial park, residential living and commercial buildings would suffer.
Solution 1 that is shown at the middle diagram is given to limit damage of the flood, however its disadvantage is high cost. Specifically, affected areas such as houses, an industrial park and commercial buildings are relocated from the flooding area. Although this method is expensive, it can protect the natural environment.
Finally, the bottom diagram describes solution 2. There are two dams built in river A and at the left of river B respectively. Creating reservoirs can control the flow of water. Because it is not necessary to move any building, the cost is less and saved though the land is affected and it harms the environment.
