The bar chart given depicts college attendance rates recorded in four distinct countries in three years 2000, 2005 and 2010.
Overall, an upward trend was seen in most of the countries over the period, except for country B. In addition, while the proportion of undergraduate students in country D was the highest, the reverse was witnessed in country B, save for the first year examined. Furthermore, the figures for country A and country D had the most significant changes, whereas there was only a small fluctuation recorded in college attendance rates in country B and country C.
Regarding country B, the percentage of undergraduates commenced at 40% in 2000 and it then remained unchanged until the end of the period, apart from a slight decrease of about 2% in 2005. Looking at the figure for country C, it started at 50% in 2000, after which it rose to approximately 52% and stayed the same for the rest of the period.
In terms of country A, having the lowest proportion of college students at around 36% in 2000, before it steadily increased to nearly 48% and 58% in 2005 and 2010, respectively. In contrast, country D had the highest rate of college attendance with 60% in 2000 and this figure then reached a peak at precisely 80% at the end.
