Children should always follow their parents' advice.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
In the society today, there are so many arguments about children should or should not follow their parent’s advice. In my view, I am on the objective side.
Sometimes parent lack experience and observation to give their children precise advice. In my case is an example. When I was 18 years old, I had to choose a university. That was a big step for my life so my parent given me many options. Finally, their recommendation is medical school because family have a couple of people who were working in this field and I would easy to get a position after graduation. As many children at that time, I completely follow my parent’s expectation. But then I totally given up on the way to become a doctor as a result of wrong suggestion. Clearly my parent did not depend on my vocation and ability which do not make me to find out my career.
Today, beside of many dangers out there so there are some parents force your child always listen your opinion. It is extremely bad if children always follow their parent’s advice which can limit assertiveness. This is the reason why the phenomenon “mama boy” is becoming popular in the recently years. That terminology is used to talk about people who always fall into mother. I think the children can ask parent when the have to choose some important things but do not necessarily follow them.
Parent play a curial role in childhood but they could not be a mentor. In person, children might have their own decision even though it is wrong. Because mistake is growth.
