The graph below shows the number of shops that closed and the number of new shops that opened in one country between 2011 and 2018.
The line graph below gives information about the quantity of closedown shops and also the figure for shops that could open from 2011 to 2018.
As can be seen from the graph, the number of closed shops and shops which were recently opened experienced a downward trend. Furthermore, the figure for opening shops occupied the last position throughout the period shown.
Regarding the number of newly-opened stores, it fell substantially from 2011 to 2012 by 4500 units. Although the dashed line had a fractional rise from 4000 to 6000 shops in 2 years, it then went down swiftly at 4000 stores in 2015 and remained stable the next 3 years. Following this, the quantity of recently opened stores had a moderate decrease at 3000 units in 2018.
On the other hand, the data for closed shop fluctuated from 6000 to 7000 shops in the first 4 years. Moreover, the line dropped dramatically in 2015 at 500 stores which were just above the bottom of the graph. Fortunately, the number of closing shops recovered to around 5000 units in 2016 and continued to slowly rise .
