Overall, the rate of using electrical appliances increased extremely while the time for housework was reduced by years. Another noticeable point is that the usage of washing machines saw a fluctuation, which is different from two others.
Regarding the information of the popularity of electrical devices, in the first year of the examined era, refrigerators accounted for just 1 or 2% while vacuum cleaners made up 30%. Then both of them witnessed a dramatic climb to 90% and 70% in 1960 respectively, before finally growing to 100% in the last year of the period. However, washing machines didn’t increase constantly through nearly three decades like two others, this item climbed from 40% in the first year to 80% in 1960. After that, the rate of washing machines slightly decreased to hit the lowest point off, at more than 60% after 20 years, and then significantly grew to the north of 70% in the final year.
Turning into the diagram that shows the number of hours spent for housework by people. This number started at 50 hours in the initial year, but then considerably declined to 20 hours, before finally falling to 10% in 2019.
