The chart demonstrates the time which was spent to telephone calls among the residents of the UK, separated into three types of call, from 1995 to 2002. Overall, it can be clearly seen that the local - fixed line was much more used than the others.
As we see from the chart, the local – fixed line consisted of more 70 billion minutes in 1995 and it was gradually increasing till it reached its peak in 1999 and became 90 billion minutes. After that, in the following years the local – fixed line plummeted and got its beginning result around 70 billion minutes in 2002.
The second category is national and international – fixed line which kept rising from 1995 to 2002 and reached a peak and finished at nearly 62 billion minutes in 2002.
The third category which is noted in the chart are mobiles. In 1995 it was around 5 billion minutes, hereinafter this line increased at a steady rate and got to approximately 45 billion minutes in 2002. The third category had a dramatical increase compared with other categories.
