TOEFL SPEAKING TASK 6: ECO-TOURISM
Traditional tourism does harm, pollution and damage to the environment. Ecotourism has two benefits. The first one is to reduce the pollution. less waste were produced and less fuel were burned. For example, a tourism company can let their customers walk or hike on ancient remains or mountains rather than taking the bus because the former does less pollution, it's pretty eco-friendly. Another one is to repair the damaged environment. A company can teach their tourists environmental issues and help to repair the damage. For instance, a tour to South America rain forests can include some course like letting their customers plant some trees in the damaged rain forest. They would not only enjoy the scenery of rain forests but also preserve the habitats for many wild animals.
