The twentieth century has seen a rise in corporate industry, the single goal of which is to gain profits. These corporates are more interested in devising ways and means to enhance their goals. Investment in modern technology has brought such firms to height of manipulation of anything and everything without a thought or consideration for the welfare of nation at large.
Genetically modified foods are a glaring example of how the world natural diversity is being threatened under the garb of developing newer , better and staple food source. The ill-effects of these GMO's such as high incidence of tumour growth, suppression of human reproductive system and its manipulation by xenestrogens present in most packaged foods plus lack of governmental interest in enforcing strictly the requirement for labelling GMO's accurately manifests how these corporates have strenghthened themselves over the years. The welfare of nation seems to be of no concern at all. In fact , on the contrary, the corporates flourish at the hands of ignorance and blind consummerism on part of the general population. A large section of the nation has shifted from healty home cooked meals to Macdonalds, KFC and other fast food giants . The cosumptions of which can be seen to lead to a rise in obesity, diabetes, blood pressure and other such debilitating health conditions. Corpo!
