The advantages and disadvantages of watching television.
It is said that: "Everything has 2 sides: good side and bad side". So do television. It brings not only advantages but also disadvantages to people.
In my opinion, television has 2 benefits. First, you can watch TV to relax at the end of a hard-working day. You can watch comedy to laugh out loud, listen to music to calm down and etc. Moreover, you can update news from all over the world. Second, television connects people together. Take my family as an example. At night after having dinner, we always gather around the living room watching TV and talking about the show. If we didn't have TV, maybe we would just gather in silence.
Apart from 2 values, television also has 2 bad impacts on us. First, the TV is wastage. According to a study, the average American spends 5 hours watching TV per day. That's a shock! Instead of watching TV, we can sleep more, read books or take part in outdoor activities. Moreover, students may be distracted from learning. They watch TV instead of doing homework. The second drawback is it has some negative influences on our health. The TV has a blue light that makes our eyes tired and causes eyes problem as well. It also affects our back. A study analyzed that students spend much time watching TV has worse imagination and concentration than ones don't. Third, television may contain adult scenes that influence negatively on children.
In conclusion, television plays a vital role in our life. We need to control consciously how and when we watch television.
