Essay topics:

A Cross-cultural study on Nature Connectedness, Leisure Attitude and Leisure Environment Preferences in Taiwan and Vietnam.

Many studies indicated that there is always a close relationship between human and nature. It is suggested that the natural environment can enhance physical and mental health including restoring attention, reducing stress and developing healthy lifestyle. Additional, people with high level of natural connection can be willing to participate outdour activities and get more health benefits. The natural environment can promote physical and mental health, help people regain attention, reduce stress, and develop healthy exercise habits. Natural connection refers to the degree of closeness between people and nature. Past studies have shown that people's preference for the natural environment is higher than that of the urban environment. Studies have pointed out that people with a high degree of natural connection will be more willing to contact nature with their leisure attitudes acquired in outdoor activities. They will also get better health benefits by engaging in leisure activities in the natural environment. This study intends to explore the relationship between people's natural connectivity, leisure attitudes and leisure environment preferences, and to further understand whether their relationship is affected by transnational issues and residential areas.
This research focuses on Taiwanese, Vietnamese in Taiwan, and Vietnamese in Vietnam (hereafter referred to as Taiwanese, Vietnamese in Taiwan, and Vietnamese) as subjects, and collects data on the research subjects on various websites. Using questionnaire surveys as a research tool, we can deeply understand each object’s views on natural connections and leisure attitudes, as well as their preference for leisure environments when participating in leisure activities, and then further cross-country comparisons to explore Taiwan and Vietnam’s views on natural connections and leisure Are there any differences in attitudes and preferences for choosing a leisure environment when participating in leisure activities? The research results show that natural connection and natural use are not affected by nationality; and the current place of residence will affect personal natural use. Research proves that Taiwanese are more willing to use nature than Vietnamese in natural use. This study also found that Taiwanese are better than Vietnamese and Vietnamese in Taiwan in terms of "cognition," "emotion," and "behavior." To sum up, there are significant differences in leisure attitudes among recipients of different nationalities, and different nationalities and different places of residence also have an impact on all aspects of leisure attitudes. When choosing the leisure environment preference, the current residence has an impact on the urban leisure environment preference, regardless of nationality; on the contrary, nationality has a difference in preference for natural and mixed leisure environments. Taiwanese prefer a leisure environment with beautiful natural environment and a mixed leisure environment with natural elements, while the urban leisure environment is favored by the tested Vietnamese. The results of the research can be helpful in the future for the promotion of natural leisure activities in Vietnam and the reference basis for Taiwan's tourism and leisure activities in planning the "southward" policy.
