self-reflection of writing
Throughout the process of learning writing at school, I encountered lots of issues and difficulties; however, I have tackled many of them and gained a vast array of invaluable and helpful skills. To commence with, my vocabulary at first was limited, sometimes I couldn’t come up with appropriate and advanced-level words, which led to unexpected results of many essays. Nevertheless, after experiencing one semester at school with writing, my vocabulary got better and it was enhanced a lot since we have peer-check tasks in class. I could get the recommendations from my friends as well as check their writings, therefore acquiring more new lexis and more varied structures for writing skills. also, I knew more kinds of writings and how to organize my ideas in a logical way. before learning writing, it never crossed my mind that I should paragraph the idea, what I did was only list and write what I thought. As a result, it made my writing look like a mess. after lessons in writing, I acknowledge that brainstorming and outlining are also very essential for the preparation as I can group the same idea together in a paragraph instead of letting them like some petty details. I wrote lots of essays, again and again. Finally, I have a clear organization of each type of writing and therefore, I always follow the structure of it.
Honestly, I have acquired a lot over a semester at cnn. writing used to be the most arduous skill according to me, however, now I’m much more confident about my ability to write an entire essay. my time-management skill was improved since I had to arrange the time for each part of the essay to finish my writing on time. Moreover, now I can utilize a wider range of vocabulary as well as complex structure, without spending hours searching for appropriate words as before. Gradually, I get used to coming up with more ideas and trying to express them in the most understandable and standard way.
In spite of the fact that writing is one of my favorite skills in cnn, I still suggest some recommendations in the program and I hope they can be pondered elaborately. Firstly, we only have thirty-five minutes for each lesson and that’s not sufficient for both presentation and writing draft one within two lessons in one day. For that reason, I hope that the presentation part can be longer as students need to totally grasp all the information about that sort of writing for the draft one in the next lesson.
In conclusion, in my opinion, the writing program at cnn is perfectly excellent as it helps students a lot in the writing learning process. I have gained many useful tips, ways to acquire more lexis, complex structure, I hope that I will have more exciting lessons, assignments like peer check and writing portfolios in the time remaining in cnn.
