The issue raises a debate about problem of what place in people's lives does television play. The point of dispute calls for its analysis by various perspectives. However, it seems that television has many useful functions to play in every one's life, for some it's relaxation, for some it's the companion, for some it's wasting time.
There are a plethora of problems associated with this phenomenon. The most prominent is that people spend a lot of time watching television. Moreover, they become addicted to it, even neglect the necessary and more important things such as meals, sleep and work; they further can get diseases as obesity, hypertension and depression, because their sedentary lifestyle and lack of communications with friends. To cite an example on this matter, a study conducted by the University of Western Australia has shown that 25 percent of viewers develop depression.
On the other hand, some people adopt an opposite view and tend to believe that television is grate companion for them. People who live alone can be involved in TV shows by answering questions and writing letters to TV shows heroes. Moreover, they can watch films from their childhood and health shows what is enjoyable. Furthermore, after work people can relax watching comedies or music programs. TV provides a wide range channels such as travel, food, gardening, sport and laws, which increase their knowledge and confidence.
Summing up all the points above, it can be concluded that impact of television on human lives is significant, although the given negative effects should not be overlooked.
